Adults Ask:
For Elementary: We took a look at Exodus 17:8-13 and read about when Moses held his staff over his head, the Israelites would win their battle against the Amalekites. When Moses got tired, Aaron and Hur came to the rescue and helped hold up his arms. The Israelites won the battle because of how they all cooperated.
What does it look like to succeed at something?
When has someone helped you succeed or when have you helped someone succeed?
What is the benefit of working together to help someone else succeed? What could be the disadvantage of working together to help someone succeed?
For Preschoolers: Jesus befriends a friendless tax collector. Jesus walks right up to Matthew’s table and says, ‘Follow me.’ Matthew was probably still holding money in his hand, but he left it all and followed Jesus.
Who can be friends with Jesus?
What makes someone a good friend?
Describe some right or wrong actions to your child. Tell your child to shake their heads “yes” if it’s a right action and “no” if it’s a wrong action. Talk about how everyone can be friends with Jesus even when they have done something wrong.
