Family Discussion Guide
Discuss the questions below with your family. These can be asked during mealtimes, in the car, before bed, etc.)
Adults Ask:
For Elementary: This month we are focusing on Individuality. We begin by looking at Genesis 1:26-28. We can love, show kindness, be creative, and care for others all because we reflect and respond to God’s character. Bottom Line: You reflect God’s image!
What does it mean to be made in the image of God?
Tell your child what is something unique and special about them that you love!
Brainstorm with your child 3 practical ways that they could show the people around them what God is like—whether it’s by encouraging someone with a card or smile, helping make peace in a difficult situation, or something entirely different.
For Preschoolers: In our story today, we learn about a man named David, who was chosen to be the next King of Isreal. Although David was young, he loved God with his whole heart.
Who made you to do BIG things? (God did!)
Who do you love with your whole heart? (God, family, friends)
Repeat this month’s memory verse with your child using the motions.
“Be strong and courageous (cross fists over chest).
Do not be afraid (cross hands back and forth)...
for the Lord your God (pointng up)
goes with you,” (hands on hips)
Deuteronomy 31:6 (Open hands like a book.)
Kids Ask:

What does it mean to live in unity with others?
What can you do this week to honor others?
