Discuss the questions below with your family. These can be asked during mealtimes, in the car, before bed, etc.)
Adults Ask:
For Elementary: This week, we took a look at Timothy. God created Timothy with a unique background that helped equipped him for a specific purpose. He didn’t have to wait until he was older to serve God, but could serve God at any age! Bottom Line: You can make a difference right now.
How can our words make a difference in the world or someone’s life?
How can our attitude make a difference in someone’s life?
What can keep us from thinking we can make a difference?
If you do one thing to show other people the love of Jesus, what would you do?
For Preschoolers: To better understand the context of this story, pull out your Bibles and read these two passages: 1 Samuel 20:14-17; 2 Samuel 9:1-13. This is the story of David and Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth.
David did a very big thing and took care of Mephibosheth. Do we know someone who might need our help? How could we help them this week?
When has someone helped you? What did they do for you?
How do you think God feels when we help someone else?
Kids Ask:
When was there a time that you felt God telling you to do something and you did it? Was there ever a time when you didn’t do what you felt God was calling you to do?
When was the last time you asked God for help?
As you wrap up the “Empty Me” part of the AWAKEN Series, what was the biggest lesson you think you learned?
