Week 2 - Taking Initiative (Elementary) & God Is With Us (Preschool)
Overview
Discuss the questions below with your family. These can be asked during mealtimes, in the car, before bed, etc.)
Adults Ask:
For Elementary students: Taking initiative means that we’re always on the lookout for things that need to be done. And when we see a way that we can help, we launch into action—without having to be asked. Our memory verse this week is Colossians 3:23a “Work at everything you do with all your heart. Work as if you were working for the Lord.”
How can you take initiative at home or at school?
What does it mean to work at something to the best of your ability?
How can I (the parent) help you, so that you can do your best work?
For Preschoolers: God is always with us! When we go to school, when we eat dinner, when we go to a friend’s house or to a grocery store… God is always with us!
Who are some of your favorite people to be with?
What stuffed animal, toy, or blanket is your favorite?
Record a video of your child saying the Bible verse (with the motions). (In the future, you will be SO GLAD you did this!)
“We have (bent hands on chest)
The Lord our God (point up with both hands)
to help us.” (thumb on palm)
2 Chronicles 32:8 (open hands like a book)
