Sermon Recap
In Week 10 of "The Narrow Way" series, Pastor John focused on "The Way of Consistency," emphasizing its necessity in a vibrant walk with Jesus. Consistent spiritual habits such as daily Bible reading and prayer foster intimacy with God and lead to spiritual growth.
Pastor John highlighted the profound benefits of daily Bible reading, which include deepening one’s relationship with God, gaining guidance, finding peace and strength, and overcoming temptation. The Word of God equips believers with wisdom, renews their mindset, and builds their character. Just as physical exercise strengthens the body, consistent engagement with Scripture transforms the heart and mind, aligning one’s life with God’s will. Christ followers are urged to "eat the book" daily, allowing God's truth to take root and guard against the enemy’s lies.
Pastor John also explored the power of daily prayer, describing it as the "highway to intimacy" with Christ. Through consistent communication with God, believers experience peace, renewed focus, and alignment with the Holy Spirit. Prayer strengthens faith, provides healing, and fosters gratitude, compassion, and love for others. It equips Christians with the spiritual armor needed to withstand life’s challenges and ensures a firm stance in faith. He reminded the congregation that a life of intimacy with God through prayer and Scripture is foundational for staying on the narrow path.
The sermon concluded with a warning drawn from Revelation 3 about the lukewarm church in Laodicea. This church, rich in worldly success but lacking spiritual fervor, served as a cautionary tale. Their water supply—neither hot nor cold but lukewarm—mirrored their spiritual state, which Jesus condemned. Pastor John stressed that inconsistency in pursuing God often signals misplaced priorities and spiritual idolatry. He challenged the church to rekindle their hunger for God’s presence, as true power and transformation come only from making Him their ultimate source. Consistency is not only the key to spiritual growth, but also the heart of living faithfully on the narrow way.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I commit my life to following You each and every day. Guide me along the narrow way, teaching me to stay close to You, to hear Your voice clearly, and to walk in obedience with a heart of humility. Help me to hunger for Your Word above all else, to consume it deeply, and to let it transform every part of my life. Ignite my heart with an unquenchable passion and zeal for Your presence, so that my love for You burns brightly and draws others to Your light. Amen.
Life Application
Commit to a Daily Devotional Habit
Set aside a specific time each day to read your Bible and pray. Start with 10-15 minutes, and gradually build from there. Use a reading plan or devotional guide to stay consistent, and journal your reflections and prayers to track your spiritual growth. Make this time sacred by minimizing distractions and prioritizing it above other activities.
Identify and Replace Distractions with God’s Presence
Take an honest inventory of activities or habits that may be pulling you away from intimacy with God (e.g., excessive screen time, work stress, or misplaced priorities). Choose one distraction to reduce or eliminate this week and replace it with intentional time spent with Jesus, whether through worship, meditation on Scripture, or quiet prayer.
