Sermon Recap
This week we continued our Narrow Way series talking about the Way of Perseverance. We highlighted that the narrow way journey of faith is like running a marathon—it requires discipline, perseverance, and trust in God’s process. Just like a runner trains to build endurance, we must train in our faith daily by trusting and obeying God, even when life is hard or things don’t go as planned. This journey isn’t about sprinting to the finish line or getting what we want instantly. Instead, it’s about growing closer to God, aligning our desires with His, and learning to stand strong under the weight of life’s trials.
Paul’s life is a powerful example of perseverance. After meeting Jesus, Paul didn’t immediately become the great apostle we know today. His transformation was a process filled with hardships—pain, persecution, and challenges—but through it all, he trusted God. Paul shows us that our struggles aren’t wasted; they refine us and deepen our dependence on God. He also reminds us that gratitude in every season strengthens our faith, helping us focus on God’s goodness, even in the hardest times.
Ultimately, the goal of this marathon of faith is to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, who is our prize and greatest joy. Trials and challenges will come, but when we choose to trust and obey God, we develop the perseverance needed to endure. As we run this race, we learn that while the journey isn’t always easy, it’s always worth it because it brings us closer to God and helps us experience His goodness in every season of life.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are a good, good Father. Today I choose to trust and obey you. Holy Spirit would You source me to lean on the Father in every season and circumstance of my life. May I learn to trust you in the little things so that when hard stuff comes I have already trained to have a mindset of perseverance. Father, regardless of my circumstances, I know you are near and my heart is full of gratitude for who You are and all You have done for me through Your Son, Jesus Christ, In His name I pray. Amen!
Life Application
Spend Time in Prayer Daily: Commit to talking with God each day, asking Him for guidance, strength, and the ability to trust Him in all circumstances.
Find a Scripture to Memorize: Choose a verse, like James 1:2-4 or Hebrews 12:1, that encourages perseverance and meditate on it throughout the week.
Practice Gratitude: Write down three things you’re thankful for each day, even in difficult times, to focus on God’s goodness and build trust in His plan.
