Sermon Recap
Today we continued our Narrow Way journey by exploring the concept of radical obedience—a call to live by the voice of Jesus, not just by His past words but by what He is saying today. We learned that when we say “yes” to Jesus, we become powerful instruments in His hands, equipped to destroy darkness. Radical obedience means partnering with Jesus fully, responding to His calls to “follow” or “come” without hesitation or questions, no matter how simple or challenging the task may seem.
The message emphasized that radical obedience begins with hearing God’s call. As Jesus stated in John 10, His sheep recognize His voice, which means we are designed to continually listen for and respond to God’s word. This idea was illustrated through Peter’s experience in Matthew 14, where he recognized the living voice of Jesus and chose to step out of the familiar safety of the boat. Though doubts and fears tried to hold him back, Peter’s willingness to leave his comfort zone shows that true obedience often requires us to overcome our natural inclinations to remain secure and cling to what is comfortable.
Radical obedience is ultimately about following the call completely, even when life’s challenges threaten to distract us. Peter’s example of walking on water is not just about performing the impossible but about maintaining a steadfast focus on Jesus. When he allowed fear to take over by noticing the wind and the storm around him, he began to sink. This teaches us that our journey of obedience demands that we keep our gaze fixed on Jesus, letting His truth guide us through life’s turbulent moments. In doing so, we grow closer to Him and become more like Him every day.

Today Jesus, not only do I long for your voice but I want to get out of the boat to answer your call. I want to be obedient in all my ways. To bring You honor and glory to You in all that I do. Keeping my gaze fixed on You, I walk out of my comfort zone into the deeper intimacy with You to become more like You. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!
