Sermon Recap
In this sermon, you are invited to reflect on the tough questions you've likely faced during times of hardship—questions like, "Why is God allowing this to happen?" or "Why does it feel like God isn’t hearing or answering my prayers?" Pastor John acknowledged that these moments of doubt and frustration are common in life’s toughest trials, especially when you watch a loved one suffer or struggle. The message for you today is to follow “The Way of Trust,” which calls for faith in Jesus even when life feels confusing and your prayers seem unanswered.
To illustrate this, the story of Jairus and his daughter, found in Mark 5 and Luke 8, is used as an example. Jairus was desperate as his 12-year-old daughter lay dying. Despite his wealth and high status, he had no power to heal her. In his desperation, Jairus humbled himself and ran to Jesus, seeking help. You are encouraged to see yourself in Jairus, trusting Jesus with all your fears, anxieties, and hopes, even when things feel out of your control or when delays seem unbearable.
Just like Jairus, you can show your trust in Jesus by doing four things: First, through humility—running to Jesus, recognizing that no human effort or resource can fix certain problems. Second, by bringing your worries and fears to Him, just as Jairus brought all his anxieties to Jesus. Third, by staying close to Jesus during delays, even when it seems like He’s not moving as quickly as you would like. Finally, you are called to trust in His Word, believing in His promises even when circumstances seem hopeless.
As you continue your journey of faith, you are reminded to walk the “Narrow Way” of trust. This path requires you to humble yourself, bring everything to Jesus, and remain close to Him, no matter how long the wait. Most importantly, you are encouraged to stand firm on His Word, knowing that His promises are always true. Trust in Jesus, and you will find strength and peace, even when life doesn’t make sense.

Discussion Questions
Discuss together, pushing yourself toward transparency. The more we are authentic and humble with one another, the more we can grow in Christ.
When have you found yourself asking questions, such as, "Why is God allowing this to happen?" How did those moments challenge or strengthen your faith?
What does it mean to you to bring all your fears, anxieties, and doubts to Jesus? Why do you think it's sometimes hard to trust Him with those emotions?
In the story of Jairus, Jesus was delayed by healing someone else before reaching Jairus' daughter. How do you respond when it feels like God is delaying in answering your prayers?
Jairus trusted Jesus' word even after hearing that his daughter had died. How can you learn to trust God's promises in situations where the outcome seems hopeless or uncertain?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come to You with hearts full of questions, fears, and doubts, just as Jairus did. In moments when life feels overwhelming and answers seem far away, help us to trust in Your goodness and timing. Remind us that You are always near, even in the delays and uncertainties. Teach us to humble ourselves before You, bringing all our worries and burdens to Your feet, knowing that You care deeply for us. Strengthen our faith to stand firm on Your promises, believing that Your Word is true, no matter how impossible things seem. May we rest in Your love and find peace in Your presence, trusting that You are working all things for good. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Life Application
Bring Your Burdens to Jesus: Whatever fears, anxieties, or doubts you are carrying, take time to bring them to Jesus in prayer. Be honest with Him about your struggles, trusting that He is able to carry your burdens and give you peace.
Trust God During Delays: When it feels like God isn’t answering your prayers or delays seem endless, commit to staying close to Him. Spend more time reading His Word and praying, holding onto His promises, even when you don’t see immediate results.
Stand on God's Promises: Remind yourself daily of God’s promises by meditating on Scripture. Write down verses that speak of God’s faithfulness and trustworthiness, and reflect on them when you face difficult circumstances.
