Accountability
This past week were you able to move past the excuses and into action?
Have you been actively seeking how God may want you to be part of the solution to the brokenness we see in our world today? How were you part of the solution over this past week?
Sermon Recap
This week we looked at a story found in II Kings 6, involving the King of Aram, Elisha and his servant. The King of Aram was at War with Israel. He would set up secret plans of attack that would continue to fail because somehow it seemed as if the King of Israel always knew his plan. That is because he did. Elisha was a man of God and a prophet. God would reveal the plans of the King of Aram to Elisha and then Elisha would go and tell the King of Israel. When the King of Aram finally figured out what was happening, he set out to kill Elisha. When they finally caught up to Elisha and his servant it looked like they finally had them trapped and surrounded. In reality however, it was God who had the army of Aram surrounded.
**Stop here and read this story before you go any further. (Read Story II Kings 6:8-23)
In this story we see the importance of Revelation. Knowing what God has promised is different then whole-heartedly trusting in God’s promises. How often do we find ourselves in overwhelming situations in life but fail to ask God for revelation into those situations. If we could just stop for a minute, put our perspective aside, and ask God to give us eyes to see the situation the way He sees it, we would save ourselves a lot of worry, grief, heartache and poor decisions. One of the greatest insights into this story is the contrast between those who are blind and those who have revelation. There are Christ followers all over in our churches walking around blind, broken, and defeated. Why? Because we haven’t asked for Revelation. If we are to be successful in being Christ to this world we have to stop acting like everyone else in the world acts and start operating with Kingdom revelation. We should look, act, and sound different from the world when we find ourselves in overwhelming situations.

Discussion Questions
Discuss together, pushing yourself toward transparency. The more we are authentic and humble with one another, the more we can grow in Christ.
Why is the revelation of God so important to us?
Why did God give his disciples revelation into the parables He used?
What changed for Elisha’s servant once he received the revelation that God’s army had Arameans all surrounded?
Where do you need the revelation of God in your life right now?
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, give me revelation into your thoughts, plans, purposes, and love for me. Help me to see people and situations through your eyes. Help me to react to overwhelming situations in my life with the pause and peace of Heaven, knowing that you see my immediate situation differently than how I see it. Give me the confidence to trust in your Word and in your promises. Forgive me for all the times I have failed to see things how you see them. Forgive me for my lack of faith and understanding. Now through your Holy Spirit I ask that you will teach me how to operate in your revelation instead of panicking and trying to take matters into my own hands. Thank you Lord for your promise of revelation to me. Amen.
Life Application
Next time you find yourself needing the revelation of God, which will no doubt be this week, instead of instantly reacting stop and pause, asking for God’s insight and revelation. Ask Him to remind you of his promises then make your decisions based on what God reveals to you.
In your quiet times with the Lord this week spend time asking everyday for more revelation. God loves this prayer! Because he has already made the Kingdom of Heaven available to each of those who believe. You may just find yourself walking and receiving fresh revelation from the Holy Spirit everyday.
