Sermon Recap:
This week Pastor John talked about some of the keys to operating and walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. There were several mentioned: listening, being attentive, courage to be obedient, faith & belief, and of course Holiness. Living a holy life is absolutely essential to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. There are many who wonder if it is possible to live a holy life. I want to be extremely clear here… not only is it possible but you are called to live a holy life. Now, can you live a holy life in your own strength and will power? Absolutely not! We have to receive and believe the truth that the cross was strong enough and complete enough to destroy any power or control that sin had on us. But God didn’t stop there. Not only did He defeat the power of sin in our lives and remove it, but he also filled us with His Spirit to empower us to walk in the ways of God. Read the verses below and allow the scripture’s truth to take root in you.
Romans 6:1-2 (NLT )Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
Romans 6:6-8 (NLT) We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. 8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.
Romans 6:12-13 (NLT) Do not let sin control the way you live;[a] do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
Romans 6:22 (NLT) But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
Romans 8:1 (NKJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who[a] do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Now look up and read the scriptures below that talk about holiness.

Discussion Questions
Discuss together, pushing yourself toward transparency. The more we are authentic and humble with one another, the more we can grow in Christ.
How much of your life does God require? 10%, 20%. 50%, 100%
Why does it seem like we struggle even though we have been given complete authority and power to walk in Holiness?
Choosing God’s best for our lives is a daily choice! After all the scriptures you have read, what does God’s best look like for you daily?
Jesus has achieved great things FOR us including New Life and victory over sin. Now the Holy Spirit wants to achieve great things IN us and THROUGH us as we walk in holiness daily with Him! What is our daily role in allowing the Holy Spirit to achieve great things in us and through us? Hint: the answer is Surrender
