Sermon Recap
If I were to sum Discipleship down to a phrase I would define it as faithfully and obediently following every step of your master, your teacher, or your rabbi. Which is what we see Jesus’ disciples learning to do and what we need to learn to do today. I think it is important for us to understand that Obedience is God’s love language. Jesus operated in obedience from day one. Jesus said John 14:15 (AMP) “If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments.”Jesus was the perfect example of how to love God and obey Him completely.
Jesus made it very clear that His focus was on obeying His Father only and doing the Father’s will. He said, in John 8:29 (NIV) The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.”
That word “always” is amazing and powerful all at the same time. Jesus always did what pleased His Father. He never once skirted the boundary or stepped across the line. He never sinned. Jesus chose to be obedient. His life was characterized by his desire to please his father through obedience. Jesus is our example and our obedience to the Father is absolutely critical to our intimacy with Him. Obedience will result in great intimacy, favor, protection, and blessing. As a disciple we follow Jesus every step of the way.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, teach me how to walk in obedience. Equip me with discernment to know your will, with ears to hear your voice, and with a humble heart that will follow you without question or argument. Lord, I know your ways are always best, so teach me your ways. Because I love You and trust You, I commit my life to you, I know that You will never let me down! Amen!
Life Application
